  • .ICO PlugIn for Photoshop

    Open, edit and save .ico format in Photoshop.

    With this plugin, you can create a "favourites" icon ("favicon") for your web site, directly in Photoshop. While a visitor is on your site, the favicon appears in the browser's location bar, and next to bookmarks. It helps to give your site a memorable, distinctive identity.

    The plugin works with all versions of Photoshop including CS4, Photoshop Elements, and Paint Shop Pro version 9 or later.
    Personally i install this plugin every time i install PS. Worked for me in PS4, 5, 5.1 and 6 32 or 64 bit.

    Information

    Important: Since Adobe changed PlugIns folder location in CS6. Exact location for CS6 is:

    For 32bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Required\Plug-Ins\File Formats
    For 64bit: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Required\Plug-Ins\File Formats

            I'll have to check this out, it may be more useful than the plugin that comes with Axials Icon Workshop.

                          @Mr351837,
                          Some how I missed this one and man am I glad to see this..

                          Now does this open/save any images for ICO format?
                          Or does it only work with favicons?

                            Works with any image just size it to icon format and save.
                            When you open .ico you get popup where you have to choose which format you want to open, and when save, saves it in only one (you choose for edit) format. Not perfect but saves lot of time in converting to png then back to ico. And it works with favicons and Vista png icons.
