  • Harddisc Problem

    Hello,

maybe one of you can give me some useful advice to my problem.

System is the one linked in my Signature.

Problem is the first 3TB Drive has a problem.
I'm not quiet sure if it's linked to the MFT (Master File Table) or the bootsector.

Defraggler, Western Digital Data Lifeguard and checkdisk all state that
neither the first nor the second NTFS sector could be read.

    Just now trying with testdisk.

If you need more Information i'd happy to provide.

If the Wd Lifeguard is stating that there are two sectors that can't be read, return it to Western Digital as it is under warranty and they will send you a new Hard Drive.

Like I posted send back to WD and they will ship you a new drive. WD is very good at doing this.

Sounds like drive issues, would check about a replacement.

              Thanks for the answers.

The drive is around 6 month old, but that shop that sold it to me isn't more anymore.
Word in the Streets out is that that shop was trading with stolen goods.

Although i didn't know that when i bought the hardware i guess it's no good to claim warranty now.

It seems there are parts of the data readable each time. so i tried to copy/move as much data as i'm possible.

This Program seems to be quite useful in this case.

It takes much time, but when i'm done i will try to format the drive.

That should do the trick to get it working again.
